Love & Respect Workshop

This workshop centers on two concepts: love and respect. These two words surface in social research and the bible (Ephesians 5:33) as the two key ingredients for a successful marriage. Men and women will learn how to resolve conflict, dealing with negative reactions. They will also learn how to motivate each other by meeting each other’s needs. Even those who feel hopeless in their relationships will gain understanding on how to handle an indifferent or unresponsive partner. Please check the “Latest News” section on our home page to find out the dates for the next session. For more information, please contact Steve and Sylvia Adams @ 410-734-7444.

Foundations of the Faith Bible Study

To build a building it’s important to have a strong foundation.  Likewise, as a Christian it’s important to have a solid foundation for your faith.  This Bible study will explore the important foundational truths of Christianity.  If you’re new to Christianity, curious about Christianity, or you desire to return to a focus on the fundamentals, this interactive, weekly Bible Study will be enlightening and encouraging.  Led by Dave DiBella, each week will provide an opportunity to learn and discuss a different topic from the Bible.  The class will last 14 weeks, but, since each lesson covers a stand-alone topic, you can join in at any time.  Please check the “Latest News” section on our home page to find out the dates for the next session. For more information, contact Dave DiBella at 410-836-0283 or djdibella@comcast.net.

One Step to Freedom

SIN—NOT ADDICTION
It’s a popular belief that an addiction is a disease. This non-scientific view places the blame on the “disease,” and claims that the addict is not responsible for their actions. The Bible, however, calls it sin (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). At some point, an individual made a deliberate choice to drink alcohol or use drugs. It is not a disease; it is a choice. A disease just happens, while an addiction is a choice that leads to a full-blown habit that is controlling, paralyzing, leading to death. Sin leads to death.
THE ONE STEP TO FREEDOM BIBLE STUDY is designed to help, offering biblical counseling and teaching that sets a person free from the bondage to and dependence on these life-threatening choices.

Precept Inductive Bible Study Classes

These classes are designed to equip you with inductive study tools so you can discover truth for yourself. “Inductive” means that we use the Bible as the primary source of study to learn about God and what the Bible teaches. The Inductive Study Method is an investigative approach to the Bible using three basic components: Observation, Interpretation, and Application. In this approach, individual time spent observing Scripture to know what the Bible says and using sound principles of interpretation to understand what it means can result in a God-honoring and fulfilling life of application of the scriptures.

Although individual study is the first step, we encourage group discussion of personal observations and insights so confirmation, clarification, and correction are made in the fellowship of other students. Discussion of the Bible’s truths helps seal them in our minds and sharing application encourages us to greater obedience and holiness.

Precept classes include about five hours of homework per week. Classes typically meet Friday evenings, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Registration is required; there is a fee for materials. For more information, contact Clark Boudreau at 443-834-6103 or cjboudreau@msn.com.
